New drive-through service at Laiterie de Coaticook

The current pandemic caused by the virus COVID-19 forces retailers to be creative in order to continue attracting and serving customers during this time of confinement. La Laiterie de Coaticook is no exception.

Our dairy bar is a popular summer attraction. It's even a tradition for many to come and enjoy an ice cream. It was unthinkable to welcome everyone to our facilities while respecting social distancing.

So we had to find a safe solution to continue this long-standing tradition with our customers. So the management team came up with the brilliant idea of putting in place a service for cars right in the parking lot!

The challenge

To make the project a success, we needed to recreate a full dairy bar. As all events are cancelled this summer, our caravan was up to the task. We installed it in the parking lot and created a circuit for the cars around it. There are two service stationsOne on each side, with attendants happy to serve you.

How it works

When you arrive, a traffic warden will tell you where to go, based on vehicle type and traffic. Then we'll show you where to go, a service representative will take your order and make you pay. A number will be assigned to you and your order will be forwarded to the caravan. Another attendant will then take your cone to your car. Please be assured that the situation is reassessed daily and changes are made to ensure that your experience is always pleasant and safe.

Safety

We have put in place various measures to respect social distancing and avoid any contact between employees and customers. All our service attendants are equipped with visors. Payment is made contactless. We have designed a cone holder which allows customers to take their order without the attendant touching it.

Customers must also comply with a few instructions. It is not allowed to come by bike or on foot. We ask that you remain in your vehicle at all times and vacate the premises once you've received your order, to make room for the next ones and avoid crowds.

The menu

You can choose from more than 20 flavours of hard ice cream. Our famous soft ice cream is also available in vanilla, chocolate or twist. We also offer sundaes, milkshakes and barbotines!
