Please note that Coaticook La Gourmande ice cream is not certified gluten-free. Some flavors contain real cookie pieces containing gluten. It's very important to read the ingredient list to make sure it's safe to eat. We have very strict procedures and equipment dedicated to allergens. Although there is no such thing as zero risk, gluten-free flavors are manufactured in the same way as the regular range, which is certified gluten-free.
Over the past few years, we have put in place various measures to control our ingredients and make our staff more aware of their responsibilities with regard to the two most common families of allergens: nuts and peanuts.
All these precautions ensure that the risk of allergen contamination is eliminated. Even so, neither we nor our suppliers are immune to human error or sabotage.
Since 2002, we've been keeping an allergen call log. In the event of a problem, this will enable us to contact allergic customers on a priority basis.
